Genders in English
In English grammar there are four genders.
1. Masculine gender
2. Feminine gender
3. Common gender
4. Neuter gender
* Masculine gender-
The masculine gender used to refer for all male characters.
Such as- man, boy, king and male animals.
Example-
- Man is reading a book.
- He is playing cricket.
- Elephant is a very big animal.
- This King was very kind.
* Feminine gender-
The feminine gender used to refer for all female characters.
Such as- woman, girl, queen and female animals.
Example-
- Woman is reading a book.
- She is playing cricket.
- Girl usually like pink color.
- The Queen was very kind.
* Common gender-
The common gender used to refer for common characters these can be male or female.
Such as- friend, teacher, parent and child etc.
Example-
- We are five friends in my group.
- My teacher will come tomorrow.
* Neuter gender-
The neuter gender used to refer for non living things. These are neither male nor female.
Such as- chair, tree, pen and rock etc.
Example-
- My office is very far from my home.
- Gold prices are high these days.
Few important point to be noted.
1. There are few masculine genders that are considered as common genders like- actor, governor, priest etc.
2. There are few non living things like -Moon and ship are considered as feminine and Sun as masculine gender.
Learn how to change of gender-
1. In few masculine gender we add '-ess' in the end to make feminine gender.

2. We remove vowel ( a, e, i, o, u ) from few masculine gender before we add '-ess' in the end to make feminine gender.

3. There are no rule for some masculine and feminine genders.
